Pinoy Wired 05/12/2008 -- Filipino-American news blog PinoyWired.com provides a preview of the San Francisco Giants 2008 Filipino Heritage night.

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco invites Filipinos in the Bay Area to join the first San Francisco Giants Filipino Heritage Night. The first-ever Filipino Heritage Night at a San Francisco Giants game is a special events game that will highlight and give tribute to the culture of the Filipino community in the Bay Area as the SF Giants take on the Houston Astros.

Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. said that the first Filipino Heritage Night by the San Francisco Giants is a testament and recognition to the growing influence of the Filipino community in the Bay Area. "I urge our kababayans in San Francisco and the Bay Area to come to AT&T Park to watch the San Francisco Giants on May 14 to display your support to the team and to your heritage," he added.

Pre-game and in-game entertainment will feature Filipino cultural dances by Bay Area-based cultural groups such as the Barangay Dance Company of San Francisco, the Hiyas Philippine Folk Dance Company and the LIKHA Pilipino Folk Ensemble.
